Continuous Open Bidding (COB)
What is COB?
Continuous Open Bidding is an informal way of a recruitment process. Panhellenic chapters use this to recruit new members outside of the usual formal recruitment that takes place in the Fall.
Who is eligible for COB?
YOU! All female students of Tarleton State University are eligible to participate in COB provided that they have never been initiated into one of the 26 National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) sororities at TSU or on another campus.
How does COB work?
Unlike formal recruitment, COB is a very casual and unstructured setting. Each chapter participating does COB differently. We as a Panhellenic Council do not have set dates or agendas planned for our chapters pursuing COB.
Is there a cost associated with COB?
No! There is no cost.
If you receive a COB, here are your options:
If a woman completes a COB Interest Form, is she guaranteed a bid?
Filling out a COB Interest Form does not guarantee that a chapter will contact the potential new member nor does it guarantee that she will receive a bid.

If you receive a COB, here are your options:
- If you receive a COB from a chapter you are not interested in joining, you may decline.
- If you receive a COB from a chapter you're interested in joining, you can accept the bid. Those accepting bids are required to sign a MRABA acceptance bid agreement.
- If you receive a COB from a chapter and are still unsure about accepting your bid at that time, you may wait to accept or decline the bid.
- Take note that each chapter is responsible for determining the deadline for when a bid must be accepted or declined.
