A letter of recommendation, recommendation letter, or reference letter is a personal letter of reference written by an alumnae member of a sorority to introduce and recommend a Potential New Member to her sorority. Letters can include activities, talents, accomplishments, etc. that pertain to a PNM so that the sorority can get to know the PNM before recruitment begins.
Does a PNM have to have letters of recommendation to go through Recruitment?
No, PNMs do not have to have letters of recommendation to go through the recruitment process. Please see the information below regarding each chapters reference letter preferences.
When are Letters of Recommendation due?
There is no deadline for having letters of recommendation sent in set by the College Panhellenic Council. Some chapters may have their own deadlines, those dates are listed below. We recommend that letters be submitted no later than the first day of classes, August 20th.
Where do my references send their letters?
Alumnae members can send their letters directly to their chapters. Below are each chapters preferences on how letters are submitted to them. Letters can also be mailed to the Fraternity and Sorority Life Office and will be distributed to the intended sorority.
