COVID-19 Update

Dear Potential New Member,

We want to repeat just how excited we are that you have taken an interest in joining a Panhellenic Sorority at Tarleton. As Panhellenic women, we have seen how transformative this experience has been and we believe it is an essential piece to the overall Tarleton experience.

Since March, the Panhellenic Executive team, along with Tarleton staff members, has been discussing how to execute a successful recruitment while also prioritizing the health and safety of chapters and Potential New Members. As we inch closer to the beginning of the school year, it is becoming more apparent that we will need to take measures to reduce risk surrounding COVID-19.

In an effort to adhere to CDC, state and local guidelines, the Tarleton Panhellenic Community has re-engineered the Panhellenic Recruitment experience. With the goal of connection and helping PNMs find their forever homes, here is the new schedule of events for Panhellenic Recruitment:
  • Before August 31st: Complete Registration
    • Make sure you have filled out the online registration to the best of your ability and that you have paid the registration fee
    • We are asking all PNMs to submit a 90 second video introducing themselves and answering the questions “Why do you want to join a sorority?” and “What do you hope to get out of during your time in a sorority?”
Here is an example of a video from a member of the Panhellenic Exec Board. Once the video is filmed, you will need to upload it to a cloud based system (like dropbox or Google) and add the link to your registration form in the appropriate submission field. In case you need some additional help, here is a quick tutorial video.
  • Thursday, September 3rd: PNM Orientation via Zoom
    • During this Zoom session, you will be meeting with your assigned Recruitment Counselor  (a current sorority member who will help you through the entire process) who will go over the entire week and answer any questions you may have. Your assigned recruitment counselor will send you the Zoom link by noon that day.
  • Friday, September 4th: Video Review via Zoom
    • Once again, you will participate in a Zoom conference call with your Recruitment Counselor, and will hear all about the sororities during pre-recorded videos.
  • Saturday, September 5th: Zoom Rotations
    • Potential New Members will attend Zoom Conference calls with chapters where they will have a chance to hear directly from the chapters. This schedule will be provided to the PNM during the day on Saturday, September 5th
  • Sunday, September 6th: Zoom Rotations
    • Starting at 3:00 you will begin a Zoom Conference call with your Recruitment Counselor to prepare for the rotations and go over a few important things as the recruitment process comes to an end. You will receive your zoom rotation schedules during the day before you start the zoom call.
We appreciate your adaptability as we navigate the new normal surrounding COVID-19.

We know that there are several questions surrounding what recruitment will look like, so please do not hesitate to reach out to the Panhellenic Team or Social Media channels with any questions you may have.

While we may be physically distant, we believe that the measures above still still allow us to connect and become closer than ever as you find your home in the Panhellenic community.

Thank you,
Panhellenic Recruitment Team
